In October of 2007, Maya Tsekenis was the recipient of the award for Graduate Social Work Student of the Year, granted by the New York State Social Work Education Association [NYSSWEA].
Additionally, Maya Tsekenis was also the recipient of the National Association of Social Worker's, NASW Student Award in May of 2008. The award was granted to Ms. Tsekenis for professional committement, student leadership, field practice and academic projects. The New York City Chapter of NASW asks each graduate program to nominate one student for this award.
